Margie Chuang:
Hi everyone, I'm Margie Chuang and welcome to Founded By Women, a podcast about inspirational women building inspirational things. I'm going to take us back to December of 2019. As my kids were transitioning out of being toddlers, I wanted to make a transition too. I felt like I wanted something more for myself— to do something that took me out of my comfort zone, that challenged me mentally, and that connected me with others who are also going through similar transitions.
And as I searched for what I wanted to do next, I realized that I was surrounded by so many inspirational women who had inspirational stories to share. So, I reached out to a fellow entrepreneur to interview her, we sat down in the conference room of a coffee shop and I hit record on my phone. No fancy equipment, no clue how it would turn out. We were just two entrepreneurs, two moms, connecting over the challenges and rewards of building something of our own while being parents. And that was the start of my first podcast, Moms Who Build.
Moms Who Build has evolved into the show that you're listening to now, Founded by Women: whether they're founding companies, blazing a new career path, or reinventing themselves, I learn about what inspires women to start their own journeys, what keeps them motivated, and what it's really like to build things that bring them joy.
We recorded the first Founded By Women episodes during quarantine. And one word I would use to describe all of these brilliant, creative, amazing women is resilience. Oftentimes, their entrepreneurial journeys began with a problem or a challenge that they were experiencing in their own lives or witnessed in the world. And knowing that it would be an uphill climb or in the case of this global pandemic, many hills to climb, they persisted. And they continue to build and join companies that solve problems and help others.
Thank you so much for coming on this journey. Thank you to all the guests who have generously shared their stories. I hope that you come away from these episodes feeling inspired, feeling seen, and feeling heard. If our stories can positively impact just one other person out there, then together, we're making the world a better place.
Welcome to Founded By Women!
